Claude Code vs Verboo Code
Claude Code and Verboo Code side by side: models, price, usage limit, context, and integrations. See the comparison table and which one to choose.
Short answer: Claude Code is Anthropic's official CLI, with the Opus 5 and Sonnet 5 models and the strongest frontier benchmarks on the market, but with a 5-hour message limit and a weekly cap. Verboo Code is a terminal CLI with unlimited tokens at a fixed price, dedicated GPUs in Brazil, and open models like GLM-5.2 and Kimi K2.7. Pick Claude Code if your task needs the strongest model on the market; pick Verboo Code if what's blocking your work is the usage cap, not the model.
Claude Code vs Verboo Code, side by side
| Attribute | Claude Code | Verboo Code |
|---|---|---|
| Where it runs | Official CLI, with a VS Code and JetBrains extension | Terminal CLI |
| Models | Claude family (Opus 5, Sonnet 5) | Open models (GLM-5.2, DeepSeek V4, Kimi K2.7, and more; the set varies by plan) |
| Usage limit | Messages every 5 hours + weekly cap (cut 17% in Sep/2026) | Unlimited tokens |
| Price | Pro US$ 20/month · Max US$ 100 to US$ 200/month | Junior R$ 99/month to Ultra R$ 1,299/month |
| Max context | 1 million tokens (Opus 5 and Sonnet 5) | Up to 1 million tokens (except qwen3.8-27b, 262K) |
| Where it processes | Anthropic's cloud | Dedicated GPU in Brazil |
| Integrations | VS Code, JetBrains, terminal, GitHub Actions, MCP protocol | Own CLI + OpenAI-compatible endpoint (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cline, OpenCode) |
| Accepts another tool's base URL | No: ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL requires the Anthropic Messages API protocol | Yes: code.verboo.ai/router/v1 speaks OpenAI protocol |
| What it does best | Frontier model for the most critical task | Long work without stalling on the cap, at a predictable cost |
When Claude Code is the right choice
- Your critical task needs the strongest model on the market; Opus still leads frontier benchmarks.
- Your usage fits within the 5-hour limit and your plan's weekly cap.
- You already use the official extension in VS Code or JetBrains and don't want to switch editors.
- You need SSO, custom data retention, or another Enterprise-plan feature.
When Verboo Code is the right choice
- What's blocking your task is the usage cap running out, not the model.
- You want fixed, predictable cost, without counting messages or window hours.
- Your data needs to be processed in Brazil.
- You already use Cursor, Copilot, Codex, Cline, or OpenCode and want to swap just the engine behind it, without switching tools.
How to switch
Claude Code doesn't accept pointing to an OpenAI-compatible endpoint: the ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL variable only redirects to a gateway that speaks the Anthropic Messages API protocol, and Verboo Code's router speaks OpenAI protocol. That's why you can't keep official Claude Code and just swap the engine, the way you can with Cursor. The real path is installing Verboo Code, which mirrors the same terminal flow:
npm install -g @verboo/code
verboo
Frequently asked questions
Can I use both at the same time?
Yes. Keep Claude Code for when you need Opus, and open Verboo Code in parallel for the long task that would otherwise stall on the weekly cap.
Can I point Claude Code straight at Verboo Code's endpoint?
No. Claude Code only accepts a gateway speaking the Anthropic protocol, and Verboo Code's router speaks OpenAI protocol. To use Verboo Code's models, install its own CLI.
If what's blocking your work is the usage cap, not the model, Verboo Code fixes it with unlimited tokens at a fixed price, in the same terminal format you already know.
